Side Movement - Ideal For Relaxation (used lying down on your back) This movement works from the feet and creates a natural rhythmic movement through the body. This is an enjoyable natural movement but is very limited in function compared to the other types of platforms. The advantage is that the units are small and they can be use by people unable to rise out of bed. |

3-Planar Vibration - Ideal For Training Acceleration High frequency vibrations are created by the base plate in three different dimensions. What should I look for in a vibration machines?
There are vary important factors that need to be considered when choosing your vibration platform. A few rules of thumb are:
Solid Construction: Cheap steel or plastic will not do. Although, most manufacturers now a days are using plastic molding for cosmetic purposes, as long as its not being used as the base support.
Reputable Company: If you don't trust a company, trust your instincts. View their contact page, do they have an actual address? How quickly do they return your emails? If you leave a voice message, how long does it take them to call back? Aside from a toll free number, do they have a local telephone number? Do they call back via a blocked phone number? etc.
Warranty: Does the unit have warranty? Who covers the warranty? If the unit is imported from Italy, Germany, Japan, etc.. do you have to deal with the manufacturer directly? This goes back to "Is this company a reputable company?"
Maximum User Weight: Make sure the vibration machine can handle your weight.
Frequency Adjustment: The greater the control the better. For any exercise, training, rehabilitation or therapy program you want to make progress. Progress is facilitated through small steps. For example: If a machine offers only two speeds, one may be too low while the other may be to high.
Noise Level: There are various models in the market that are very loud, even higher priced units. Always inquire about the noise level. This is very important if you will be installing multiple units in a clinic.
Manuals: All units nowadays should come with some kind of training manual, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.
Scare Tactics: A reputable company will never stoop down to this level. These are the people you will have to deal with if ever your unit does need service.
Vibration Type: Is it side movement, 3-planar, oscillating,... many dealers will only carry one type or one machine of each type. 3-planar machines tend to be more expensive than oscillating machines. This does not mean that the 3-planar is going to be better for you.
Return Policy: A reputable company will always provide a return policy. This policy should be on their web site.
Keeping physically active is key to a healthy lifestyle. Although, physical activity is perfectly safe for most people, sometimes it's important to get a doctor's OK before you exercise.
